As a trained teacher, I understand the immense value of ensuring that children have access to quality education and skills for employment. I taught Home Economics in Nigeria before immigrating to Canada. I was part of the group that started Okin Yoruba Language School in 1997. The various School Divisions recognize the credits earned by its students in Winnipeg. I held the positions of teacher and school coordinator for many years. I am still involved in the school’s administration, with about 100 students registered from Canada, the USA, and the UK.
I acquired a bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology and certificates in Education, Community Leadership and Conflict resolution. Education and skills training is the key to unlocking the potential of children and youths and promoting personal and economic growth. I am passionate about ensuring teachers are motivated and have all the tools they need to make our schools a safe and exciting place for children to learn.
I am committed to working towards policies and initiatives that promote education and skills training for everyone in our community.
Education is the foundation for personal and professional growth, and it provides individuals with the tools they need to succeed in life. We must work towards providing access to quality education for everyone, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.
Furthermore, skills training is essential for creating opportunities for individuals to succeed in the workforce. We need to work towards developing policies that promote skills training and provide opportunities for individuals to acquire the skills they need to succeed in the jobs of the future.
To achieve these goals, we need to work towards investing in our education system, providing access to affordable education and training programs, and creating policies that support and encourage lifelong learning. We also need to work towards creating partnerships between educational institutions and employers to ensure that our workforce is equipped with the skills they need to succeed.
In conclusion, my belief in education and skills training is rooted in my opinion that everyone in our community deserves the opportunity to succeed. I am committed to working towards policies and initiatives that promote education and skills training for everyone in our community. I look forward to working together with you to achieve this goal.
