Winnipeg, MB – Lawrence Toet, former Member of Parliament for Elmwood-Transcona (2011 – 2015), has announced his endorsement of Titi Tijani as the Progressive Conservative Party’s MLA candidate for Transcona. The endorsement recognizes Tijani’s significant community contributions and leadership abilities.

As a leader, internationally educated teacher, and activist with over 25 years of experience in community development, Titi Tijani is a pillar in the African Community. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Ecology from the University of Manitoba and certificates in Education, Community Leadership, Trainer and Conflict Resolution. Tijani’s social services and education career has made her a committed advocate for a more diverse, sustainable, and equitable Manitoba.
Tijani has volunteered in the African community for over 25 years, supporting the integration of newcomer women and their families. As the President of African Communities of Manitoba Inc. (ACOMI) since 2017, she has helped African ethnocultural community organizations build and develop capacity. Her recognitions include the Spirit of a Community Builder Award, the Premier’s Volunteer Service Award Certificate of Recognition, one of the 100 most fascinating Manitobans in 2020, Manitoba Honour 150, Mayor’s Volunteer Service Award in 2021, and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Community Leadership Award in 2022. She’s actively involved in various community organizations and has shown a solid commitment to families and community unity.
